Another homeowner kills intruder in Puget Sound area

Apr 5, 2012, 5:55 AM | Updated: 10:09 am

A retired Puyallup police officer shot and killed a burglar in his South Hill home on Wednesday.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. when the man reports a group of people forced their way into his home.

He says one of the intruders came at him with a crowbar so he shot him.

That suspected burglar was driven to the hospital by the other suspects where he later died. The police arrested his friends after finding stolen property in their truck.

This is the fourth time this year that local homeowners have shot and killed intruders. The prior shootings were in Everett, SeaTac, and North Bend.
