Power has been restored for nearly 10,000 Auburn residents who were without power this afternoon.

At approximately 11:57 a.m., the outage was first reported, with 9,257 Auburn residents remaining without power, according to the Puget Sound Energy (PSE) outage map.

Around 12:30 p.m., the outage was reportedly resolved, and all of the more than 9,000 residents had their power restored.

The estimated time for power to be restored was previously 3 p.m., but PSE restored the power roughly two and a half hours ahead of schedule.

Several thousand without power in Auburn’s Lake Tapps area

The outage spanned from the Lake Tapps and the Lakeland Hills neighborhood up to SR 18 near Les Gove Park.

PSE was previously in phase one, “Outage reported,” of its four-stage plan to resolve the outage. The company resolved the outage before it updated its map with any of the next three phases, including assessing any damage, assigning a crew, and lastly updating customers when a crew is on site actively restoring power.

Outage notifications and details can be found on the PSE outage map.

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
