Baby wasn’t only one crying at Seattle baptism beat down

Baptisms usually end with a crying baby and happy parents, not bloody noses and several assaulted cops.

Seattle police say so much alcohol was being passed around at this baptism celebration at the South Park Community Center Saturday night that a fight broke out just before midnight.

Officers were called in to break it up, but the crowd turned on the officers and started beating them. Back up was called and even King County deputies came to help.

Five officers were hurt in the fight while two people were arrested for assault.

The center was evacuated and the crowd was sent home.

The officers’ injuries were minor.
