The “Tour de Banks Robber” has struck again.

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, around 10:25 a.m., Mill Creek Police say an armed man robbed the Whidbey Island Bank at 1504 132nd Street SE. The masked man brandished a handgun, put stolen cash into his backpack, and then took off on a bicycle.

The FBI says this is the eighth time the man dubbed the “Tour de Banks Robber” has struck in King and Snohomish Counties over the past year.

“It’s kind of a take-over style bank robbery, and it’s not much of a jump until those situations become very dangerous,” says FBI Special Agent Fred Gutt.

The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest and CrimeStoppers added $1,000 to the reward. You can make a tip anonymously through CrimeStoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
