Bellevue High School football team ranked number one in the nation

Bellevue High School’s football team is currently ranked as the number one high school team in the country by ESPN and Sports Illustrated.
The Wolverines completed their season beating Eastside Catholic 35-3 in the 3A state championship.
“On Nov. 30, the Wolverines capped off a terrific season by winning their fifth straight state title and 10th in the last 12 years,” says ESPN.
Sports Illustrated reports Bellevue took the top spot in the rankings this week after a loss from the Manatee Hurricanes of Bradenton, FL.
But ESPN says Bellevue’s ranking isn’t set in stone. Two other teams near the top still have games to complete, and if either take the state title, ESPN says they could take the top spot.
The final ESPN rankings are out on Dec. 24.
