Body of man found near crashed van in Redmond

Mar 5, 2013, 9:48 AM | Updated: 9:49 am

Authorities say it appears that a man whose body was found near a crashed van in a rural area northeast of Redmond died at least a week ago.

“It does appear that it was an accident and the car just went off the road in an area that nobody could see that it was there,” says Sergeant Cindi West with the King County Sheriff’s office.

West says a passerby discovered the van and body down an embankment off of Novelty Hill Road near Redmond Ridge Monday night.

“We had a report that a person was putting a sign up in the field area and saw a vehicle,” says West. “Apparently the person went over to the vehicle and saw that there was a body in the vehicle.”

Authorities say the deceased man was 60-years-old. They have not released his identity.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
