Body of woman found stuffed inside a suitcase at a Kent park

A riverside walk in a Kent park turned into a horror story after a man discovered a dead body stuffed inside a suitcase.

“A guy at the park found a suitcase, opened it up, and didn’t like what he saw when he opened it up and called Kent PD,” said Detective Jason Hauck with the King County Sheriff’s Office.

The suitcase was found on Frager Road near the Veterans Drive Bridge that crosses the Green River on May 27.

“The reason it is just now coming out is because we’ve been waiting for the medical examiner to give us a report, and we just got that the last couple of days,” Houck said.

A cause of death has not been released.

The sheriff’s office is now asking for help identifying the woman whose body was found in the suitcase. The woman is believed to have died sometime during the first week of May.

“Obviously she didn’t put herself in there. There weren’t any injuries or anything like that. She looked like she was well-nourished,” Houck. “Right now we are just trying to find out who she is.”

Investigators say the woman is possibly Caucasian and was between the ages of 50-60 years old. She had a small build at 5’4″, and around 106 pounds. Her shoulder-length hair had gray streaks. The woman wore full dentures, but none were recovered at the scene.

The sheriff’s office reports that she was wearing a purple shirt with flowers and an adult diaper. She had Cirrhosis of the liver, indicating the victim had long-term and heavy alcohol consumption. There were no scars or tattoos.
