Starting at noon Thursday a portion of US Highway 2 will be closed again as the Northwest Region Department of Natural Resources and local firefighters continue to battle the Bolt Creek Fire.

The Washington State Department on Natural Resources announced that they would be closing US 2 again from milepost 46 to milepost 49.

‘More closures possible’ for US 2 lasting through winter

WSDOT said that the road should be reopened by 5:00 p.m. but that could change depending on how long it takes crews to do the mitigation work they need to do.

The Bolt Creek Fire has burned 13,278 acres and is 36% contained as of Oct. 12.
