Bothell’s mayor is being sued by a woman who says she was fired from his law firm after calling off their affair.
Micaela Mae, 23, claims she had a two-year affair with Bothell mayor Mark Lamb, and that she felt forced into sexual encounters with him while working as a paralegal in his private law firm.
She claims she was fired from her position as an intern at North Creek Law Firm after she decided to stop the affair. She is now suing.
The Everett Herald reports that Lamb denies the affair allegations and he claims he’s being targeted because he’s a public figure. He calls the lawsuit frivolous.
Mae claims the affair started in 2010 after Mayor Lamb met her while she was working as a waitress. He then put her on his law firm staff in 2011 as an intern.
Her lawsuit is claiming gender discrimination and that the law firm was an abusive workplace environment.
