A Seattle nonprofit working to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is hoping police can recover stolen items that were to be auctioned off at a fundraiser.

Surveillance cameras captured a man who police believe stole several items, including a laptop, digital camera-binocular combo and Seahawks gear on Wednesday from the Northwest Infant Survival & SIDS Alliance in the 4600 block of Sunnyside Avenue. The items were to be auctioned during a fundraiser this weekend.

“These were for our annual auction,” says Northwest Infant Survival & SIDS Alliance Executive Director Krista Cossalter Sandberg. “It’s our biggest fundraising event of the year.”

Computer speakers and 20 thumb drives were also stolen.

Police believe the same suspect broke into another office in the building shared with the alliance, where he ate, drank beer and defecated in a trash can.
