Can cheese be a weapon? Seattle police seek woman in hot cheese assault

Sep 9, 2013, 11:23 AM | Updated: 11:36 am

The Seattle Police Department is looking for a woman responsible for a really cheesy attack in West Seattle.

Police say the woman woman walked into the 7-11 near SW Barton and 35th Avenue SW early Monday morning and bought a bag of Doritos. She then walked over to the store’s liquid chili cheese dispenser and began pouring hot cheese into the bag.

The woman reportedly melted down (pun intended) when the clerk told her she’d have to pay for the cheese, screaming at him before throwing the cheese-filled bag at his head.

The clerk was covered in hot goo, but not seriously injured. Police say he chased her out to her car to write down her license plate when she punched him in the back and took off.

Police arrived soon after the clerk called 911 to find the man with the cheese on his face and hat. He identified the woman – a regular at the store – as a black female, about 35 years old, wearing large hoop earrings, and a grey sweatsuit.

The woman called police and said she would come to the precinct but never showed up. Police say she could be charged with assault.
