Seattle police are searching for someone who shot a man several times and left him to die in a busy part of Capitol Hill.

Three injured in White Center shooting over weekend

Officers responded to a report of a man who had been shot near Broadway and East Howell Street near Cal Anderson Park after 8 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot three times. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he was stable Monday night.

Security guards at Seattle Central College say they saw the shooter run to the campus. Police scoured the area for more than an hour while classes continued inside.

“I guess they were thinking the guy who shot the person actually went into the school and so they came in there with like the SWAT team, with guns drawn and were asking, ‘Hey, have you seen the guy with a green beard,'” said student Saadiq Kamali.

Police say the shooter is a white man in his 50s and was wearing a tan hat at the time.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Seattle police.

Police said the victim told officers he was shot by a man in his 50s but couldn’t provide more.

Security guards at a nearby college told police they saw a man, who matched the description in a classroom, at the school.

After searching the entire campus, officers did not locate anyone matching the description.

Detectives are working to determine what led up to the shooting.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the Seattle Police Department’s tip line at 206-233-5000.
