Man trapped in camper for nearly 2 hours after 70-foot tree falls in Carnation

Emergency crews rescued a man Wednesday night after a large tree fell onto a camper in Carnation, leaving him trapped inside.

Eastside Fire & Rescue firefighters responded at approximately 9 p.m. to the incident near the 1100 block of Lake Joy Road N.E., according to KIRO 7.

A tree had collapsed onto a camper, pinning a person inside and blocking access to the vehicle.

Rescue crews faced difficult conditions as they worked to reach the victim. Authorities said fallen trees and power lines blocked off the area.

Carnation man freed after being trapped for nearly two hours

After nearly two hours, firefighters rescued the man from the damaged camper. A friend at the scene told reporters the victim was conscious and speaking during the rescue. However, Eastside Fire & Rescue said he suffered life-threatening injuries.

Officials said the tree involved in the incident was approximately 70 feet tall and nearly five feet in diameter.

Authorities have not released additional details about the victim’s condition.
