Five people were killed after a shooting at Cascade Mall in Burlington, Wash., about an hour and 20 minutes north of downtown Seattle.

Each of the victims are remembered below, and we’ll update this story with additional details and pictures as we get them.

If you knew the victims and want to share your thoughts, e-mail KIRO 7.

Updates on the Cascade Mall shooting

Sarai Lara

Lara was 16 years old and a student at Mount Vernon High School. Friends said she was at the mall with her dad.

Lara’s father stepped outside to smoke when the shooting started, KIRO 7 was told.

Friends plan to wear purple and pink to honor Lara Monday when students return to Mount Vernon High School.

Her mother, Evangelina Lara, and her father all went together to the Cascade Mall together Friday night, but split up when Sarai went into Macy’s. “She just wants to say that she wants justice for her daughter because she was just going shopping,” said Lara through a translator. “She wants justice and the store to take responsibility for what happened.”

Lara says Macy’s failed to protect her child. “She wants the store to take responsibility,” said Lara’s translator. “Because they didn’t have any security that was trained to take care of a situation like this.”

Belinda Galde and Beatrice Dotson

Galde, 64, and her mother, Beatrice Dotson, 95, were at Macy’s together. Galde was a probation officer based in Arlington. There are pictures of Belinda Galde and her mother all over social media. But her family asked KIRO 7 not to use them because they have not been formally notified they are dead.

Chuck Eagan

Another victim of the Cascade Mall shooting was Chuck Eagan, a longtime Boeing maintenance worker from Lake Stevens.

Chuck and his wife were out for a Friday night dinner date and shopping at the mall, and they had made their way to Macy’s when the gunman opened fire.

Chuck and his wife began running when they saw women being killed, but his wife fell down as she was trying to get away. Chuck rushed to save her, and as he helped his wife, he was shot and killed.
