Chance of light snow to start week in Puget Sound region as temperatures dip

With temperatures expected to drop this week, there’s a chance that parts of the Puget Sound region could see light snow to start the week.
Should Seattle rethink its plans for snow plows?
“No significant accumulations are expected,” according to the National Weather Service, but a mix of light snow or a rain/snow mix could fall during morning commutes early this week.

The latest forecast from the NWS predicts that snow levels in the region are likely to begin dropping by late Monday night, settling around 500 feet by early Tuesday morning.
However, with south winds at the surface and no cold air, the NWS says accumulation seems unlikely.
By Wednesday morning, temperatures will drop to around 31 to 32 degrees in Olympia and Tacoma, and 33 to 34 degrees in Seattle and Everett. It’s unclear at the moment if those frigid temperatures will be accompanied by more precipitation, although the NWS believes “at least some moisture will clip our area before the bulk of it is pushed south into Oregon.”
At that point in the week, the best likelihood for accumulations will be in the Kitsap Peninsula and Hood Canal regions, with a 50% chance that the Bremerton area could see up to an inch of snow.
