Pierce County deputies rescue flock of chickens dumped on roadway

A flock of chickens was rescued by Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies last month after they were dumped on a roadway near Tumwater.
Deputies arrived at the scene near Tilley Road, where several chickens were making a “very vocal traffic hazard,” PCSO Sheriff Sanders announced.
Deputies began to corral the chickens and reached out to Dutchman Family Farm for assistance.
The farm, located just down the street, immediately responded with gear and cardboard boxes that helped to save the chickens and clear the roadway.
Sheriff Sanders thanked the community for always being willing to help.
