A body was discovered after washing up on the shore between Neah Bay and Sekiu in Clallam County. The Coast Guard believes the body is one of the three boaters who went missing on April 16.

Three boaters—two men and a woman—set sail from Makah Marina between 7 and 8 a.m. on April 16. The three were expected to return by 8 p.m. that night, but just after midnight on April 17, their capsized 15-foot boat was found at Koitlah Point. There was no sign of the three people who were on board, the Coast Guard reported.

The woman’s body was discovered around 2 p.m., not far from where the capsized boat was found. The two men still have not been found.

It’s believed the three passengers on the boat were between the ages of 62 and 68.

U.S. Coast Guard continuing its search

The U.S. Coast Guard is continuing to search the area via seacraft and by airplane in an attempt to locate any additional victims and survivors from the capsizing. The identities of the people have not been made public.

Anyone with information who may be able to help the Coast Guard in their search is asked to call the U.S. Coast Guard Command Center at (206) 217-6001.
