Comedian Katt Williams expected in Seattle court Wednesday

Dec 10, 2012, 1:58 PM | Updated: 2:48 pm

Troubled comedian Katt Williams is expected to appear in a Seattle courtroom Wednesday to answer to assault charges, according to the Seattle City Attorney’s office. Meanwhile, TMZ released a video Monday of one of the incidents for which he is facing charges.

Williams faces three misdemeanor fourth-degree assault charges resulting from two different incidents.

In the first, Williams came off the stage and hit a fan in the head for videotaping him during a performance at Seattle’s Paramount Theater. Dori Monson Show listener Carlos Castro-Lino first described the attack in an exclusive interview.

The video released by TMZ Monday clearly shows Williams striking Castro-Lino as audience members gasp in horror.

“It could happen to you. Record me and see what happens to you. Go home and get your raggedy pistol and bring it back. I already got mine,” Williams says on the video afterwards.

Castro-Lino is now suing Williams and the Paramount for $250,000, claiming he suffered a concussion.

Williams is also charged for allegedly attacking several fans when they tried to take a picture with him. Williams denied assaulting anyone and claimed the fans tried to force their way into his dressing room.

Williams was arrested and spent the night in jail after a confrontation with several people and a manager at the World Sports Grilled in South Lake Union. Williams reportedly threatened one person with a pool cue, threw a rock at a car window and flicked a lit cigarette at a woman.

Police say he was also aggressive with officers when they tried to subdue him before finally getting him into the back of a patrol car.

Williams failed to appear for his original arraignment last Thursday morning. His lawyer claimed it was a misunderstanding and the comedian didn’t think he needed to be there.
