Much cooler ocean air is here in western Washington and you will probably feel it when you walk out the door Tuesday.

Marine clouds will expand over much of the area and a weak system offshore will increase cloud cover.

Instead of the 91 degree high temperatures seen on Monday, temperatures in Seattle will only top out in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

We will even see a few showers Tuesday evening, especially over the northern part of the area. A few isolated thunderstorms are also possible closer to the Canadian border.

In the mountains, there will be a chance of thunderstorms, mainly in the north Cascades, on Tuesday afternoon and night.

Wednesday’s highs will be similar to Tuesday – in the upper 60s to near 70 – before we warm back into the mid-to-upper 70s for Seattle on Thursday and probably Friday too.

The first half of the weekend should be dry and pleasant, though cooler conditions could arrive by Saturday night into Sunday, with some showers moving through.

“On the 4th, I see partly sunny skies with the chance for just an isolated shower here and there,” said KIRO 7 Meteorologist Nick Allard. “There is no sign of a return to hot conditions like we’ve experienced in the next two weeks, at least.”

Temperatures should average near seasonal norms through the next two weeks.
