Crews evacuate Wallingford buildings near natural gas leak

Seattle Fire Department (SFD) crews were evacuating buildings in Wallingford after reports of a natural gas leak.
Firefighters have since secured the natural gas leak, but are monitoring the air to ensure gas levels are dissipating, SFD reported around 3:20 p.m.
“Firefighters are notifying impacted residents when it is safe to return to their homes,” the department stated on X.
No injuries have been reported.
Firefighters detected natural gas near a construction site in the 1200 block of North Allen Place.
Near the gas leak is a cat cafe and apartment buildings.
