The Crime Blotter: Missing Thurston County teen, truck found with blood inside and smashed cell phone

South of the state capital, FBI agents are part of a huge effort to find a missing 17-year-old. Thurston County Sheriff Lt. Cameron Simper says Gabriel Davies disappeared on his way to football practice at Olympia High. Davies was seen last seen near Tenino late yesterday afternoon. Lt. Simper says the teen’s abandoned car was found in a family’s driveway. According to eyewitnesses, they saw Davies walking alone in the area. According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Department, Davies truck was found abandoned with blood inside and his cell phone smashed on the ground. Davies’ family said what has happened on Wednesday is out of character for Gabriel. “We have to look at the behavior of an individual,” Simper said. “The pattern of behavior and this is uncharacteristic of Gabriel. We’re not going to push this aside as a runaway. That’s why we’re taking it seriously and will explore every tip and avenue to make sure that we bring Gabriel home safely.” At this point, his disappearance is being called suspicious by the sheriff’s department. Burglary suspect shot by Parkland homeowner

A burglary suspect is in the hospital after he was shot by a Parkland homeowner early Thursday. Two burglars were at a home in a neighborhood at First Avenue South and 146th Street South, near Pacific Avenue South, when the resident opened fire, striking one of them, according to Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Darren Moss Jr. According to Moss, the burglars initially tried to get into the home through a side window, but weren’t successful. Moss said the suspects then may have tried to steal a catalytic converter from a car parked outside, when the homeowner came out. The homeowner was pepper-sprayed before shooting at the burglars, according to Moss. The injured suspect was taken to a hospital, where he is in critical condition. The second suspect fled and has not been found. Deputies are conducting a search.

Dead man facedown in bushes in Tacoma

Tacoma Police are investigating a homicide in the 2000 block of E. Wright Avenue. According to Officers, South Sound 911 received a report of a person lying face down in the bushes, not moving. The Fire Department responded and determined the man was dead from what appeared to be a gunshot wound and called the police. Officers on the scene talked with witnesses who said they heard gunshots around 3 a.m. but did not call 911 at the time. The victim is a 29-year-old man. The investigation continues. Kenmore man dies after head injury; police searching for suspects

Lacey Police officers responded to a call at the 100 block of College Street SE for a physical disturbance August 30. Callers told dispatch a man was lying in the parking lot behind the hotel. Witnesses say two men involved in the disturbance left in a gray Toyota Camry with temporary plates. Officers discovered an unconscious man with head injuries, and medics rushed him to St. Peter Hospital, where he died from his injuries. The victim was a 36-year-old man from Kenmore, Washington. Lacey Detectives are leading the investigation.

Suspect on the lamb since July caught in South Kitsap

Kitsap County Sheriffs’ Deputies arrested Hayden Armstrong-Nunes yesterday after a struggle in rural South Kitsap County. Armstrong-Nunes has been wanted for a felony assault since early July. Deputies say were acting on a tip when they responded to a residence on SE Morning Mist Rd, off Long Lake Rd, where Armstrong-Nunes was reported to be staying. According to the deputies, they used a coordinated plan, surrounding the residence and establishing communication with Armstrong-Nunes, and attempted to call him out of the house. Armstrong-Nunes came out of the house and initially appeared to comply with the deputy’s instructions but suddenly decided to jump into a car and take off. Deputies say he backed away but collided with a large object that prevented him from fleeing. He then decided to try and flee by going forward but crashed into the front of a KCSO patrol car, blocking his path and causing damage to both vehicles. Armstrong-Nunes tried getting away and fought with Deputies while being arrested. One of the Deputies on the scene suffered minor injuries. Armstrong-Nunes did not complain of injuries but was evaluated at a local hospital before being transported to the jail. Armstrong-Nunes will be booked with a bail of $500,000 on charges of second-degree domestic assault warrant and new, additional assault charges stemming from this fight with officers.
