Cute lion cubs step out at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo

For the first time, Woodland Park Zoo’s three lion cubs got to stretch their legs in Seattle’s sun Tuesday.
Under the watchful eyes of mom and dad, the 11-week-old triplets romped through the grass as a family – or pride. Until now, they’ve spent all their time indoors at the exhibit.
The zoo said the cubs are practicing outdoors before their public debut, which is coming soon.
First-time father Xerxes, has spent the past few weeks getting to know his offspring during short visits.
While he might be king of beasts, the zoo said Adia (mom) was in charge during the outdoor adventure.
“She shows patience with the kids and keeps them from getting themselves into any danger,” the zoo wrote on its blog.
Recess lasted about an hour, but it was enough to wipe out the cubs.
The zoo said the cubs will get a few more visits outdoors before the public is invited to get its first look. In the meantime, it will seek help naming the cubs. That announcement is expected next week.
