King County detectives are investigating a probable homicide near White Center.

KIRO Radio’s Brandi Kruse reports a body was found along with some trash in an illegal dump site. The remains could be those of a missing woman who deputies have been searching for for weeks. However, there is no confirmation the remains are female.

Detectives said informants led them to the scene in the 10700 block of 6th Ave So. Thursday morning.

“This is not a place that someone naturally dies, so it would either be due to homicide or accident,” said Sgt. D.B. Gates. “I think we’re confident in saying ‘homicide’ at this point.”

She said detectives recently dug up a yard in Burien looking for this missing woman, but came up empty-handed.

The King County Medical Examiner is at the location.

This is a developing story. Check back for details.
