Fire investigators began to sift through a torched Toyota
Camry Wednesday, looking for evidence that could help them
solve the murder of a Kent woman.

Denise Kay Grigsby, 39, was found burnt beyond recognition
in the trunk of her own car near Auburn Sunday. Her body was
identified by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office
Tuesday, which has listed her cause of death as homicidal
violence caused by blunt force trauma to the head.

“Look at this, this is an egregious crime,” said King County
Sheriff Sgt. Katie Larson, who stood next to the torched
trunk of Grigsby’s vehicle. Charred remains of her clothing
were visible inside.

Larson said that Grigsby was last seen by a family member
Friday evening, and detectives are working to fill in the
time line leading up to her death.

A $10,000 reward has been offered for information that leads
detectives to a suspect. Those with knowledge of the crime
are asked to call 1-800-55-ARSON.
