A Northwest establishment came out on top when Esquire magazine asked readers to name their “most life-changing burger joint.”
Seattle-based Dick’s Drive-In surprised Esquire editors earning 56 percent of votes in the poll.
“We kinda figured the honor would go to one of the bigger chains: Steak ‘n Shake, In-N-Out, Five Guys,” said the article featuring the results.
“We call it the “Best Fans” award!” said a posting on Dick’s facebook page. “Your passion for Dick’s burgers made national news! Thanks to everyone who voted, shared, and commented about their burger bliss.”
Dick’s Drive-In has been serving Northwest customers since 1954. There are six Dick’s locations in the Puget Sound area, with the newest opening in Edmonds last year.
