Firefighters rescued a dog that tumbled down a 20-foot cliff at Point Defiance Park on Wednesday afternoon.

In a post on X, the Tacoma Fire Department said they received a call around 2:15 p.m. from a person whose dog had fallen. The department’s technical rescue team was able to reach the animal and safely lower it the rest of the way to the bottom.

The fireboat Destiny was waiting to take the dog and its owner to safety.

Both appeared to be unhurt.
