Driver blows past trooper going over 100 mph

Jun 13, 2012, 9:45 AM | Updated: 12:45 pm

A trooper picking up debris on the side of I-5, south of Olympia, heard the tricked-out Acura Integra coming up from behind him.

“He could hear this car coming,” Trooper Guy Gill told MyNorthwest.com. “He got in his patrol car and clicked the radar. One-hundred-fourteen miles an hour as he passed the trooper that was on the shoulder.”

Gill said the trooper got in behind the driver and checked the speed again. It was over 120 miles an hour. “The trooper caught up to him and initiated a traffic stop and placed him under arrest for reckless driving,” he said. “The guy’s excuse this morning was he was late for work.”

A driver was pulled over last week in Snohomish County going 104 miles an hour. He too blew right past a state trooper.
