Jul 24, 2025, 8:59 AM

Crews spent nearly 90 minutes searching the Duwamish River last night after receiving reports of a potential drowning, but found no one.

After spotting a person struggling in the water near East Marginal Way in Tukwila, someone called 911 to report it. Puget Sound Fire responded to the scene, using inflatable kayaks to search the area.

The King County Sheriff’s Office helped in the search via a helicopter.

“Firefighters searched for approximately 90 minutes and were not able to locate the missing person,” Puget Sound Fire reported on X. “The scene is being turned over to Tukwila PD.”

It’s still unclear what led to he potential drowning, as of this reporting, or if that person made it out safely.
