More than 10,000 electric grills recalled over electric shock hazard

More than 10,000 Char-Broil electric grills have been voluntarily recalled after heating elements would disconnect and pose an electric shock hazard.
Nine different variations of grills were included in the recall, including 10,263 sold in the United States and another 342 grills sold in Canada, the company announced.
The recall was submitted Thursday, spanning the following Char-Broil models:
- Bistro Pro Electric Grill & Griddle + Charcoal Mode Black
- Bistro Pro Electric Grill & Griddle + Charcoal Mode Red
- Bistro Pro Electric Grill + Charcoal Mode Blackout
- Bistro Pro Electric Grill + Charcoal Mode Black
- Bistro Pro Tabletop Electric Grill Black
- Bistro Pro Tabletop Electric Grill Red
- Bistro Pro Electric Grill & Griddle + Charcoal Mode Black with cover
- Bistro Pro Electric Grill & Griddle + Charcoal Mode Red with cover
- Bistro Pro Electric Grill & Griddle + Charcoal Mode Emerald with cover

No injuries have been reported, but consumers are advised to stop using the grills immediately
The recalled grills were sold at a variety of online and in-person stores, such as Ace Hardware, Lowe’s, Walmart, Wayfair, Amazon, and Char-Broil.
The grills were sold from October 2025 through June 2026 for prices ranging between $150 and $250.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) offered a remedy, advising consumers to stop using the electric grills and immediately contact Char-Broil for a free repair kit. Consumers can register here for repair instructions, a screwdriver, a wrench, screws, and a label to affix to the grill following its repair.
Char-Broil has also offered a $25 digital gift card for consumers who provide photo documentation of the finished repair.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the faulty product.
