Level 3 ‘Go Now’ evacuation orders issued for parts of Okanogan

Level 3 “Go Now” evacuation orders have been issued for parts of Okanogan due to multiple fires.
All roads west of Conconully Highway, from Kermal Road to Green Lake Road in Okanogan, are being told to evacuate now, Okanogan Emergency Management reported around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
“Fire is on Pogue Mt. above Vic Smith Road, heading north,” officials stated.
The evacuation orders also span Dry Coulee Road, East Dry Coulee Road, and Woods Hill Road, emergency management reported around 4 p.m.
The Wildland Fire is moving north toward Salmon Creek Road.
“Do not wait for additional notifications or door-to-door contact,” officials stated. “Leave the area immediately. Be aware of your surroundings and evacuate without delay.”
Road closures due to B and O Fire in Okanogan
There are also several road closures due to the B and O Fire.
Salmon Creek Road from Okanogan to Spring Coulee Road is closed. Spring Coulee Road from B and O Road to Salmon Creek Road is also closed.
Shelter available
Officials noted the Okanogan County Fairgrounds are open for animals.
Shelter is available at Community Presbyterian Church at 9 S. Birch St. in Omak.
“Fire has crossed Danker Cutoff Road, going up Pogue Mountain,” emergency management stated.
Level 2 “Get Set” evacuation orders also issued
Meanwhile, Level 2 “Get Set” evacuation orders have been issued near Hope Spring Road in Okanogan.
Okanogan Emergency Management is monitoring the situation.
