One dead in Everett apartment fire Monday morning

One person died in a fire that occurred in an Everett apartment complex Monday morning, the Everett Fire Department (EPD) confirmed.
Firefighters were called to Woodhaven Apartments, located at 4604 Fowler Avenue, after people reported smoke was coming from one of the units. A smoke alarm was triggered as well.
At 8:25 am this morning, Everett Fire was called to Woodhaven Apartments -4604 Fowler Avenue – for a report of a smoke coming from an apartment and the smoke alarm sounding. Firefighters arrived to find the same and made entry to the apartment. pic.twitter.com/Ax3Wo31xfW

When firefighters entered the unit, they found a person unconscious. Crews worked to extinguish the fire while others attempted to save the victim’s life, but the person died at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
