Everett hospital employees medicated for whooping cough

Seventy-two employees at the Providence Colby campus have given antibiotics after being exposed to a co-worker with whooping cough. Seventeen patients who were near that healthcare worker have been advised to take medication.

The Everett Herald reports none of those exposed have come down with the disease.

Twenty-three employees who showed symptoms have been told to stay home until their antibiotics are completed. So far 17 of them have been tested and none have the disease.

There have been 338 confirmed cases of whooping cough in Snohomish County this year.
