The FBI joined the search for a missing 14-year-old teen, who family members believe was abducted while on vacation in Skagit County.

The county sheriff’s office says Katelynn “Katie” Barlow walked out of her family’s cabin at Big Lake at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday and has not been seen since.

Katelynn’s phone was found at the Smokey Point rest stop in Snohomish County, which is about 45 minutes away from the family cabin at Big Lake. She was barefoot and wearing only pajamas and a tank top when she walked outside.

Her phone has been turned over to the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office to be mined for clues.

Family says Katelynn is polite, a good student and very happy living with her aunt and uncle, Jeff and Carissa O’Connor.

They live near Orlando, Florida, but vacation at Big Lake.

KIRO 7 talked to her mother from Florida Tuesday night who says Katelynn had shown no signs that anything was wrong.

“There’s no inclination that she would have done this on her own. At this point, we have no doubt that someone has taken her,” said Jessica Barlow.

Family says no clues indicate she had been communicating with anyone online.

O’Connor says he’s convinced his niece was abducted.

“How could she be a runaway if she was just wearing pajama shorts and a tank top in 50-degree weather? Coming from Florida, that’s cold for us,” he told KIRO 7 News.

An Amber Alert was not issued in this case because authorities don’t have information on a suspect or a suspect vehicle.

Katelynn has red hair and blue eyes. She is 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 120 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (360) 428-3211.
