Ferry schedules are changing for two weeks starting Saturday.

Because of construction, Seattle’s Colman dock will be running with one boat slip, instead of the usual three. It means schedule changes on the Bainbridge and Bremerton runs. Ferry departure times will be shifted anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes in the mornings. Afternoon sailings will be moved by as much as an hour.

Colman Dock construction to mess with ferry riders

Ferry spokesperson Sharon Gavin says with only one slip in service, it increases the risk that a problem at the dock or with a boat could create significant delays.

“At Vessel Watch you can see exactly where your ferry is on the water, and you can subscribe to Route Alert that will provide you with email updates,” she told KIRO Radio.

“Some sailing times in the morning may shift only 5 or 10 minutes, but in the afternoons and evenings we’ll see greater shifts in ferry times, sometimes as much as 30 minutes or an hour.”

The temporary schedule runs through January 20 and is posted at docks, as well as available online and through the state Department of Transportation phone app.

The Colman Dock terminal won’t be fully complete for about three more years.
