Proud geeks from all over are heading to the Washington
State Convention Center this weekend, but it’s not just
their favorite sci-fi characters they’re hoping to hook up
with, a lot of them will be looking for love.

“If you are tired of looking for love in Alderaan places,
if you want to Terminate your single life, and if you are
looking for someone that your comic collection will
actually impress, then sign up!,” says the web page promoting Sci-Fi speed
dating
at the convention this weekend.

“Extreme fans, the fan boys, the fan girls. God love
them, the bar scene just doesn’t work for them” says self-
proclaimed “Geek Doctor of Love” Ryan Glitch.

Glitch can testify to the success of his brainchild. He
met his girlfriend at one of his own sessions.

The geek connection idea is gaining momentum since TLC
started airing the series “Geek Love” in December.

The speed dating sessions at Emerald City Comicon in
Seattle this weekend are so popular, they’ve added one on
Sunday to accommodate all the love sick nerds eager to
sign up. Pre-registration for the events is closed, but
attendees can sign up at the show, and Sunday is first
come, first served.

Emerald City Comicon begins at 2 p.m. on
Friday and runs through Sunday evening at the Washington
State Convention Center in Seattle.
