Fire at Fircrest duplex displaces three people early Monday morning

A fire at a duplex in Fircrest caused three people to be displaced, the Tacoma Fire Department confirmed.

Just before 2 a.m. Monday, Tacoma Fire crews were called to a duplex fire at 67th Avenue W. in Fircrest.

“Upon arrival, they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the building,” Tacoma Fire posted on social media. “Crews spent 40 minutes getting the fire under control.”

Everyone in the building was evacuated safely, Tacoma Fire confirmed, with no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
