Four people were rescued after they climbed a structure at Gas Works Park. One of them was hurt when he fell.

A man fell 30 feet from one of the towers onto a metal catwalk shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

Firefighters used a ladder truck to bring the man down from the catwalk, which was about 30 feet off the ground. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center with injuries to his leg, back, and head.

The heavy rescue team was concerned about the stability of the catwalk because the structure was built in 1906.

The other three people who were rescued from the tower were not hurt.

The former coal and oil gasification plant manufactured the gas that supplied Seattle until 1956, according to HistoryLink.org. The plant at the park has been fenced off for years.
