Forecasters are backing off their previous predictions for snow across the Puget Sound lowlands this weekend.

While a front is expected to create a convergence zone around Snohomish County into Sunday, the National Weather Service in Seattle says the window is limited for a chance of snow.

“The prospect of any lowland snow seems minimal at best,” the NWS wrote in its weather discussion on Saturday.

There is a slight chance that there will be snowflakes on Sunday as temperatures dip, but no accumulation is expected.

This weekend last year was the first weekend of the February 2019 snowstorm.

The National Weather Service said Monday night into Tuesday morning will be chillier than normal, with lows dropping to near freezing. As precipitation moves back into the region, there is another chance for snow or a rain/snow mix.

However, snow levels are expected to quickly rise to 4,000 feet by Wednesday.
