Former Seahawk Brandon Browner says he wants teammates to break Richard Sherman’s arm

Brandon Browner’s lifetime membership in the Legion of Boom is likely to be revoked after he encouraged his Patriots teammates to try and break Richard Sherman’s arm.

Browner, who was defensive back for the Seahawks from 2011 to 2013, was asked by ESPN about injuries to Sherman’s elbow and Earl Thomas’ separated should suffered in the NFC Championship.

“I’m going to tell my teammates, ‘Go hit that elbow, go hit that shoulder,” Browner said. “Try to break it if you can.”

Sherman told reporters in Phoenix Sunday the injury is healing and he’ll be fine for the Super Bowl. He went so far as to say he hopes quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots go after him in the game.

“I hope so,” Sherman said. “I’ve been able to move it a lot better than I did earlier.”

Browner did praise both Thomas and Sherman’s toughness after the Seahawks’ standouts both played the last part of the game essentially one-armed.

“Watching the game, you can see Sherman was holding that arm like he had a sling on it,” Browner said.

Still, Browner insists there’s no bad blood between him and his former Legion of Boom members.

“You are going to be my best friend at the end of the day,” Browner said of Sherman and Thomas, “but I know you want the Super Bowl just as bad as I do.”

Browner missed out on playing in the Super Bowl last year because of a groin injury and one-year suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy after repeatedly testing positive for marijuana.

He said he was so pained, he watched the game alone in his room while friends and family watched downstairs at his house.

“It sucked. It was the worst feeling and I had to hear my family cheering for my teammates,” Browner said.

Sherman and Thomas weren’t available to media Monday to comment, but Kam Chancellor and Doug Baldwin said they weren’t bothered by Browner’s statement.

“B.B. is like a brother to us, man,” Chancellor said. “All I can say is God bless his heart. His heart, it tells everything. The man upstairs knows, so bless his heart.”

“I would expect nothing less. This is the Super Bowl,” Baldwin said. “What do you expect? I understand the fans want it to be classy, said publicly, and everything to be said politically correct, but that is the truth of the matter. We want this game just as much as they do and they want this game just as much as we do. I expect nothing less from Brandon Browner. We go after them in an aggressive fashion just as much as they are going to go after us.”
