A carbon dioxide leak in the Capitol Hill neighborhood prompted a building evacuation and hazmat call early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 7:45 a.m., the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) responded to a hazmat call in the 1500 block of 10th Avenue, SFD announced.

The premise was evacuated as crews conducted testing throughout the area.

Roughly 10 minutes later, SFD identified the isolated carbon dioxide leak and downgraded the response.

SFD advised people to avoid the area.

There has been no update on whether the gas leak has been resolved entirely.
