A gas leak at a Costco in Lynnwood prompted the evacuation of hundreds of shoppers Saturday afternoon.

The fire department discovered a visible cloud of gas and a man had suffered a frost bite injury at the store at 19105 Highway 99. Firefighters said it appeared he came in direct contact with the gas. He was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

Fire crews determined that a refrigerant line had burst at the store. They were able to turn off the gas at the valve and the leak stopped. The gas was determined not to be hazardous.
