Getting to Atlanta for the next Seahawks game shouldn’t be a problem

If you’re thinking about making the trip to Atlanta to watch the Seahawks and Falcons on Sunday, you had better make a decision quickly. The prices are only going up, and the availability of flights and hotels is only going down.

Atlanta is a major hub-city for the airlines. Getting there is not going to be a problem. It’s going to be spendy but you shouldn’t run into trouble finding a flight. Currently, they are running at about $600.

There aren’t many direct flights from Seattle to Atlanta, and they are expensive. Travel expert Steve Danishek said the best way to save money is to book two one-way flights.

“Always look at buying two one-way tickets,” he said. “You don’t get penalized for buying those and flying out on one carrier and back on another. Always look at the one-way fares first and then add together the best values you can find.”

Then you have hotels and rental cars to consider. Downtown Atlanta is going to cost you about $200 bucks a night, minimum. You can find cheaper rooms just a little outside the city. Rental cars aren’t that bad either.

Danishek bottom-lines it. “$600 to probably $1,200 on the air,” he said. “$100 a night on the hotel if you stay out in the airport area. About $100 or $150 on the rental car. It’s about the same rates we saw getting into Washington, D.C.”

So figure on $1,000 on the low end, depending on the deal you can put together.

Now to the game tickets.

There are thousands of tickets still available on Stubhub for the game. You can find seats in just about every section, including 50 yard line behind the Seahawks bench. Those are going for about $300 a ticket now. Upper level tickets are running at about $80.
