A kitten in Gig Harbor had to be rescued from underneath a vehicle’s rear suspension on Tuesday.
After the kitten ran into traffic, it located a “safe hiding spot” under a nearby car, and luckily, other drivers witnessed what had happened, Gig Harbor Fire and Medic One stated.
The driver of the vehicle was alerted to the kitten finding refuge under the vehicle and didn’t drive away.
Crews lift the car at a local tire shop to free the ‘tiny passenger’
Gig Harbor Fire’s Engine 52 responded to the scene, with assistance from the Gig Harbor Police Department, and safely moved the vehicle to Eagle Tire.
Staff were “more than happy” to help extricate the kitten from the undercarriage of the vehicle.
Once the car was put in the air on a lift, crews were able to get a better view of where the “tiny passenger” was hiding.
After careful examination of the vehicle’s underbelly, firefighters were able to safely rescue the kitten from the car.
“Thankfully, the kitten was unharmed and may have even found its forever home with the driver,” the fire department stated.
