Google, the California-based tech giant, announced Wednesday that it is laying off 52 employees across several Washington locations.

The layoffs will impact employees at its offices in Kirkland, Redmond, Seattle, and those working remotely, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing.

Layoffs reach nearly every Google hub in WA

Roughly 21 employees are being let go from Google’s Kirkland facilities, including its locations at:

  • 747 6th Street S. Building C
  • 451 7th Avenue S. Building D
  • 425 Urban Plaza Suite #223

Each Kirkland employee subject to the layoffs was notified of their separation between July 8 and Aug. 4.

About eight employees were affected at Google’s Redmond office located at 17275 N.E. 67th Court. All eight employees were notified on Aug. 4, and their separations are anticipated to be on Oct. 4.

Roughly 20 Google employees were let go from three Seattle offices located at 620 Boren Avenue, 1000 Mercer Street, and 520 Westlake Avenue.

Three other remote employees residing within Washington were also laid off.

Google noted that all separations are expected to be permanent, with all layoffs being finalized between Sept. 6 and Oct. 4.

Each separated employee will receive any pay and benefits due to them as a Google employee up until the termination of their employment.

Software engineers made up the bulk of the layoffs, with managers and designers also affected, among several others.
