Governor Inslee faces criticism for role in Boeing vote

Boeing Machinists and other union members let Washington Governor Jay Inslee “have it” during a 35-minute closed door meeting in Olympia.
They are still upset at his role in the second 777X vote that they said divided the union.
Inslee knew he was going to get hit with some very tough questions and criticism, and that’s what he got.
“Machinists were not overly subtle,” the governor said after the meeting.
This was the first time the governor met with the union since the January 3 vote. The Everett Herald reports machinists have not forgiven him for forcing a second vote that ended with the union losing its traditional pension in exchange for the work on the 777X.
The governor reminded the union he only called for a vote and did not tell members how to vote.
He did get strong applause after the meeting because he was willing to show up and face the criticism.
