Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Inc. issued an allergy alert and recall on Monday for one of its Häagen-Dazs chocolate bar products.

The company is voluntarily recalling its Häagen-Dazs Dark Chocolate Mini Bars in a six-count package due to the product possibly containing undeclared wheat, the company announced.

The Dreyer’s product subject to the recall was shipped to Kroger stores across 29 states, including Washington, and Giant Eagle stores in five states.

Chocolate bars with the batch code of LLA519501 under “Best By 31 JAN 2027” are being recalled due to the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions that those with wheat allergies could have if consumed.

The company stated no other Häagen-Dazs products or batches of the Dark Chocolate Mini Bars were affected by the recall.

No illnesses have been reported as of the company’s Monday recall announcement.

“We are recalling this product because it may contain products that contain wheat in packaging that does not reveal the presence of wheat on the label,” the company stated. “Although our investigation is ongoing, we believe products containing wheat were repacked into the incorrect packaging at the beginning of a production run.”

Consumers who have purchased the affected product are urged not to consume the product and either dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“The safety, quality, and integrity of our products remain our number one priority,” the company stated. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action represents to both our consumers and retail customers.”
