High winds, power outages expected across Western Washington

Forecasters say a strong low pressure system expected to roll across Western Washington Sunday night and into Monday may produce high winds, topple trees, and produce power outages.
The National Weather Service says southwest winds of 25 to 30 mph will begin Sunday evening in areas around Everett and southward. There may be gusts of 60 mph as the system moves east.
There may also be some flooding along Puget Sound shorelines Monday morning when one of the highest tides of the year is already expected.
In the Cascade Mountains, the snow is expected to begin falling Sunday afternoon and become heavy in the evening and early morning.
Forecasters say heavy snow on Monday combined with 40 mph winds will produce blizzard-like conditions at times. It’s expected to snow 1.5 to three feet in the Cascades by early Tuesday.
After the low pressure system moves through, forecasters say we’ll get a break on Wednesday.
