Hiker falls 40 feet down embankment at Discovery Park, rescued after stuck for hours

A hiker fell 40 feet down an embankment at Discovery Park in Seattle on Sunday afternoon, requiring a rescue from the Seattle Fire Department.
The hiker was stuck for hours after falling down an embankment.
To rescue the hiker, fire crews had to evaluate the steep terrain and cut through thick brush before conducting an “aerial high direction” rope rescue to get the stranded hiker back out.
3800 block of Discovery Park Blvd: All firefighters are safely on the ground. Crews are breaking down the rope system. Medics evaluated the patient. The patient refused transport to the hospital.

Fortunately, the hiker only suffered minor injuries. Additionally, the hiker refused transport to the hospital.
