Police are searching for armed robbers who forced
their way into the home of a Tacoma couple Thursday night,
threatening to kill them and holding them hostage for
hours.

The robbers, wearing bandanas over their faces,
broke through a glass door at the home of Ramio and Norma
Fernandez at 74th St and South
Ainsworth
.

“There was a gun pointing at me with a laser and I
cannot move and he said, ‘We want your money. We want your
jewelry,'” Mr. Fernandez told KING 5.

Police say Mr. Fernandez tried to escape “however
one of the suspects chased him down, assaulted him and
physically pulled him back into the residence,” said
Tacoma Police Lieutenant Jerry Laramie.

Norma Fernandez says she feared for her life.

The robbers tore up the house and got away with
two duffel bags full of cash and valuables. There were no
serious injuries to the couple.

Police dogs were not able to track the robbers, who
appeared to talking with a woman accomplice using two-way
radios during the robbery.
