Inching closer to breaking dry weather record

It’s been a dry kick off to the fall season and forecasters say it’s not going to rain anytime soon.
In fact, we’re very likely to set a new record of 76 dry days with only .03 inches of rain since July 23.
“I think it’s pretty likely. We only need two more days of it and I think we’re definitely going to break that,” said Johnny Berg with the National Weather Service.
He said with a weak El Nino winter in the forecast, there’s a 60 percent chance of a drier than normal winter.
The previous record was a 75 day stretch of .03 inches of rain, set in 1922.
